Freycinet
Experience - Nature, Lodge & Walks - Tasmania
From US$17650.00 per person
Immerse
yourself in the wilderness on this fully catered, 4-day
guided walk covering the entire length of the Freycinet
Peninsula on Tasmania's east coast.
On the Freycinet Experience Walk,
no more than 10 guests participating in this four day bush
walk from 2 - 6 hours daily and spend each evening at the
Friendly Beaches Lodge.
The walk covers the entire length
of the Freycinet Peninsula on the east coast of Tasmania.
A group of no more than 10 guests are led by two guides
through one of Tasmania’s most breathtaking National
Parks. The guides provide natural and cultural interpretations
of the environment.
At the end of each day's walk guests
are brought back to the Friendly Beaches Lodge where the
hosts at the lodge prepare a well deserved meal highlighting
the best of Tasmanian wine and produce.
The Friendly Beaches
Lodge has been architecturally designed so that it has minimal
impact on the surrounding coastal bushland and is a winner
of two National Architectural Awards from the Royal Australian
Institute of Architects. The lodge is tucked away on 130
hectares of coastal bush surrounded by Casuarina, Tea Tree
and Eucalypts so that although the lodge is less than 100
metres from the ocean, none of the buildings are visible
from beach.
This minimal impact ethic is taken
throughout the lodge which collects its own rainwater and
solar power and utilises waterless toilets to minimise the
environmental footprint.
The walk itself
covers between 30 and 37 km depending on which walking option
guests choose. Regardless of choice all guests
will travel from the southern tip to the north of the Freycinet
peninsula in a continuous journey, and the best part is
that because this bush walk is lodge based guests don’t
have to carry a heavy pack.
