The Tuamotus Archipelago
The largest collection
of coral atolls in the world is about 200 miles northeast
(or a one hour flight) of Papeete and also accessible from
Bora Bora. A scuba diver's dream with shallow ocean or drift
dives in waters rich in marine life with manta rays, sharks,
wrasse and schooling barracuda. Rangiroa is the largest
of the atolls and offers an array of daily aquatic excursions
and activities. There are pristine lagoons and white-sand
beaches among the islands' numerous charms On Manihi, a
small atoll a little further north you can also visit a
black pearl farm.
