In the foot of the Koutoubia mosque, with its matchless landmark minaret and only 5 minutes walk from the Jemaa el Fna square, the Villa des Orangers offers an exceptional location to explore the medina. Also, it is only 15 minutes drive from the airport. “Villa des Orangers” opened at the end of 1999 and is a member of the Relais & Châteaux since 2001.

“Villa des Orangers” is a riad, a traditional Moroccan townhouse built in the 30s by a judge of Marrakech who lived there until 1998. Pascal and Veronique Beherec discovered the house during a short trip in this city. Already owners of two hotels in Paris, it was the beginning of a new project: the creation of a luxury hotel, combining tradition and sophisticated decoration, in the wall of this residence, located in the medina.  Nine months were necessary to restore the house and local craftsmen worked there in the total respect of the traditions. The perfect integration of the hotel within the framework of the Moroccan culture creates a charming place of 27 rooms and suites.

The Villa des Orangers is an intimate haven of peace located near the bustling souks of Marrakech with 27 rooms and suites arranged on two levels around three verdant open-sky patios with water fountains surrounded by galleries of chiseled plaster and a garden.

The hotel has 03 swimming pools: a rooftop one – 5 by 7 meters, with a nice view of the nearby Koutoubia mosque and the Atlas Mountains –a 16 meter long one, heated, in a 450 m² garden–and a 5 meter long one in a private riad with 02 suites and a solarium.

There are also three lounges with fireplaces, two dinning rooms, three massage cabins, a Moroccan traditional hammam, a beauty center, a fitness club and a decoration boutique. Free wireless internet connection is available in the lounges and courtyards.

The hotel is composed of: 4 deluxe rooms, 2 rooms with private terrace, 6 junior suites, 12 suites of different size with private rooftop terrace and 3 master suites with balcony overlooking the garden and the pool. All are equipped with air-conditioning, satellite TV, mini bar, safe, direct dial telephone, en suite bathroom with separate* bath and shower, double sink, hairdryer. *Except one deluxe with terrace and one junior suite.

The 3 master suites are about 100m² each, on two levels. They all have a living room with fireplace, a writing desk and upstairs, the bedroom with fireplace as well, bath, separate shower, dressing area and a balcony overlooking the pool and garden. They also have plasma screen TV, DVD-CD player.

A snack lunch composed of salads, club sandwiches, omelets, special of the day and daily’s pasta is served between 12:00 to 3:00pm wherever the guests wish to.

Dining here is a joy, perhaps in one of the small lounges off the courtyard, on your private rooftop terrace, in one of the restaurants or around the main pool, offering a la carte Mediterranean cuisine and daily suggestions of Moroccan traditional dishes.

The attentive staff transforms each hour of the day into moments of relaxation and well being, whether one is relaxing by the rooftop pool or enjoying mint tea, Moroccan pastries or a cool beverage by the garden pool.

The Spa NUXE is equipped with a traditional Moroccan Hammam as well as three massage cabins –one room for a couple and two individual ones, and two treatment rooms. The menu declines the famous Huile Prodigieuse® with all the benefits of authenticity, sensuality and efficiency with for example Sensory Nuxe Massage® such as “ Serenity Massage” or “Kashmir Massage “ or the unique treatment with flowers and precious plants.

 Known as “the red city”, Marrakesh is packed with beauty, charm and culture. Enjoy a view of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains and the minaret of the Koutoubia mosque from almost any terrace in the city. Visit the many architectural attractions inside the medina, the old fortified city. The ornate El Bahia palace, with its gardens and tranquil courtyards, is a popular destination.  Djemaa el Fna is the largest market in Morocco and the biggest square in Africa. Make sure to have a walk around the square in the evening when musicians, dancers, and story tellers fill the square. Wander around the many souks adjacent to Djemaa el Fna where you can buy everything from spices to shoes and teapots. Visit the famous Menara and Majerolle gardens or perhaps enjoy a ride on a traditional horse drawn carriage.
