The Slovak capital, lies at the heart of central Europe just 40 miles from Vienna on the banks of the Danube River. Most of the sights date back to the era between 16th and 19th centuries when it was the capital and coronation town of the Kingdom of Hungary. Visit the massive Bratislava Castle guarding the Danube River which served as the royal residence and the St. Martin’s Cathedral where 19 Habsburgs were crowned. Take a stroll through the charming, pedestrian Old Town full of lively cafés and restaurants and preserved noble palaces.
