This custom itinerary was designed for an active Family of 9 Adults and 2 children ages 15 & 13 for their Christmas & New Years Holiday.  The itinerary takes you to Sydney, the Great Barrier Reef, Adelaide and Kangaroo Island.

G’day and Welcome to Australia’

On arrival Sydney your Chauffeured Driver will meet you at the terminal and after your luggage is loaded and you are comfortably seated, you will be transferred to your hotel in the city.

Balance of your morning is free until your afternoon harbour cruise.
You can take a short stroll out your hotel door to the historic rocks precinct with its myriad of shops, markets restaurants and bars. Here you will see Australia’s Colonial past and you may enjoy having lunch and browsing through the one-of-a–kind shops. Also near the hotel, are the Opera House, Royal Botanic Gardens and the designer boutiques at the Queen Victoria Building.

This afternoon, make the short walk from your hotel to the Sydney Harbour Cruise departure point to board your Afternoon Harbour Cruise.

Your Premium Cruise on Sydney Harbour takes you into the upper reaches of Middle Harbour. Discover the stories of Sydney Harbour under the spell of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. This wonderful sightseeing cruise includes a fun and personalized commentary of the sights, people, land, history and development of the world’s most beautiful harbour city, with a choice of Sparkling wine, Coffee or a selection of fine teas with a seasonal selection of cakes, macaroons or cheeses. After you disembark you will have the evening free for more self-exploration of this magnificent city.

Sydney, capital city of the state of New South Wales, is the gateway to Australia. Like a clear, bright gem, Sydney has a natural shine, which attracts and seduces all who come to it. A maritime city, its natural harbour is unsurpassed in beauty. Houses crowd to the land’s edge interrupted by sheer rocky cliffs and preserved bush-land. Sydney has an international flavor. The numerous nationalities, which have settled here, contribute to a varied and fascinating blend of restaurants, shops and nightlife. This cosmopolitan city rewards visitors who choose to explore it, as well as those who simply admire its up-front beauty.

Two adventurous Family activities planned for you today.

Sydney Harbour Bridgeclimb – Enjoy a guided journey to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It takes you along the outer arch of the Bridge on catwalks and ladders all the way to the summit, 134 meters above Sydney Harbour. In Climb groups of up to 14 people, you’ll be led by one of Bridge Climb’s professional Climb Leaders on an adventure of the world’s most recognizable Bridge. The steady incline to the summit leaves you free to focus your attention on your Sydney experience, with opportunities to witness 360 degree views of Sydney, including east to the Sydney Opera House, west to the Blue Mountains and the Harbour city surrounds.

Sydney Classic Bike Tour – A unique experience which showcases the best of Sydney through a fun and entertaining guided bicycle tour to look at Sydney from historical, cultural and social perspective while mixing in many laughs along the way. You will take in the iconic sights, and tons of other sights you may miss on exploring on your own. An expert guide will give you the information you need to get the most out of your trip to Sydney so you can just sit back and let your guide do all the work while you take in ALL the breathtaking sights!

The rest of your day is free to venture over to Darling Harbour – one of the world’s great waterfront recreational and pedestrian precincts. With its spectacular harbour setting, Darling Harbour has many tourist attractions and it’s also a favorite place for Sydneysiders to spend their time relaxing and celebrating.  You may wish to have your evening meal here or in one of the nearby China Town restaurants.

Darling Harbour Must-see attractions include: Paddy’s Markets, Powerhouse Museum – home to Australian culture and history; Sydney Wildlife World is one of the world’s largest animal encounters under one roof featuring interactive world-class displays of all-Aussie animals and the fabulous “Breakfast with the Koalas” attraction; Sydney Aquarium – one of the largest in the world with over 11,500 all Australian aquatic animals;  National Maritime Museum; Nearby China Town– a cultural oasis in the heart of Sydney; Cockle Bay & King Street Wharf – for dining and entertainment and Harbourside Shopping Center, and Sydney Casino.

This morning your Chauffeured Driver will transfer you to the Sydney Domestic Airport for your flight to Cairns.   On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Palm Cove a scenic twenty-minute drive north of Cairns Airport.

Balance of your day at leisure. You may wish to enjoy lunch in one of the beachfront eateries in the Palm Cove village along the Williams Esplanade.

Situated at the meeting point of rainforest and reef, Palm Cove is a cosmopolitan beach-side village, only 25 minutes north of Cairns, where nature abounds with centuries old majestic melaleucas, coconut palm fringed beaches and tropical gardens. Palm Cove has an unspoiled stretch of beach long acclaimed as the premier tropical resort on the Marlin Coast of Far North Queensland. Secluded, yet totally accessible, exclusive Palm Cove offers the ultimate in tropical relaxation – or exploration. The spectacular Daintree Rainforest and the Atherton Tablelands are just a few of the wonders within easy reach, with the local jetty providing direct access to the Great Barrier Reef.

An exciting day lies ahead for the family as you will embark on a full day tour to the Great Barrier Reef with a hearty lunch.

Travel from Cairns to the Great Barrier Reef on a magnificent 25 meter custom designed sailing catamaran. The first stop is Michaelmas Cay, world famous for its migratory birds. Michaelmas Cay and Paradise Reef, two destinations where you can soak up the sun, snorkel with the fish, scuba dive and take a glass bottom boat ride or simply enjoy sailing. The cay provides one of the few rare opportunities to snorkel and scuba dive in protected calm waters. No matter what the weather, the sandy lagoon is wind protected and the coral is immediately adjacent to the beach. Sea turtles are extremely common and you are also likely to see giant trevally, small black tip reef sharks, bat fish, and hundreds of varieties of colourful reef fish.

The next stop is Paradise Reef, a hard coral reef where fractured coral form a ribbon of small reefs. With depths of up to 25 meters along the edge, water clarity is good and the area is host to many exciting fish species. Located on the Outer Barrier Reef, Paradise Reef forms part of Breaking Patches, a system of reefs about 1 to 2 nautical miles north of Michaelmas Cay.

A full day among tropical nature awaits you as enjoy a tour to the Kuranda Rainforest, a visit to the Rainforestation with  lunch and return by Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.

Your shuttle coach will transfer you to Rainforestation, set in 40 hectares of lush gardens and tropical rainforest, a number of unique attractions await you. Board the unusual amphibious Army Duck for a different look at the rainforest. An experienced guide will show you unique tropical fruits, ancient rainforest plants and point out a number of our native animals as you meander through the rainforest. Join the Dreamtime Walk for an insight into ancient Aboriginal Culture.  The Pamagirri Dancers perform a range of native dances in the Rainforest Amphitheatre that reflects their humor and excitement of their culture.

A delicious BBQ lunch is included before visiting the Koala & Wildlife Park. Cuddle a koala (own expense), smile at a crocodile and hand feed the kangaroos and wallabies before returning to Kuranda.

Embark on a thrilling full day River Rafting journey on the famous Tully River.

The Tully River is Australia’s best and most famous one-day white water rafting experience. It’s the North’s ultimate white water, white knuckle adventure, with up to 5 hours of rafting over more than 45 rapids through World Heritage Rainforest.

Balance of your day at leisure – Suggest you explore the nearby famous shopping and dining precincts, Rundle Mall and Rundle Street. The Adelaide Markets, Adelaide Botanic Gardens and National Wine Centre are all within walking distance. You may also like to take the city tram to the quaint Seaside beach town Glenelg for a seafood dinner in one of the waterfront restaurants.

Culshaws Restaurant downstairs in your hotel serves Australian cuisine. The Hop, Snap & Swim dish is a great tasting plate of Kangaroo, Barramundi and Crocodile. Or Andres Cucina for outstanding Italian food the locals can’t get enough of.

Adelaide, capital of South Australia, is one of Australia’s most beautiful and well-planned cities. It is famous for its elegant parks and gardens and majestic churches. The surrounding hills and vineyard areas of the Clare and Barossa Valleys and McLaren Vale, are some of the country’s best-known wine producing areas. Just off the coast is beautiful windswept Kangaroo Island, a reserve for seals, sea lions, kangaroos and birds. Beyond Adelaide is the stark beauty of the outback with unique desert towns such as Coober Pedy, famous for its opals, and the ancient natural beauty of the Flinders Ranges.

Early this morning you will commence your 2 Day/1 Night Highlights Of Kangaroo Island Tour.

Today your touring will include Seal Bay Guided Beach Walk, Kangaroos, Koalas in the Wild.

You will connect with Sealink Ferry Sealion 2000 departing Cape Jervis to arrive on Kangaroo Island by ferry service where you will be met by your guide. Your island nature experience begins with an introduction to Kangaroo Island. Tour through several differing island habitats and see wildlife in its natural environment. Kangaroo Island is a haven for Australian wildlife with some 250 species of birds.   At the spectacular Seal Bay your guide will escort you on a memorable walk along the beach. This bay is home to a healthy Australian sea lion colony. Walk among the sea lions as they bask on the beach or among the sand dunes after their extensive fishing expedition.  Following your picnic lunch travel through the island’s interior keeping an eye out for koalas and echidnas. Explore the spectacular beaches of the north coast and take a bushwalk.

Day 1 Highlights of your Full Day Kangaroo Island Wildlife Discovery Tour:
* Unforgettable beach walk to see Australian Sea-lions at Seal Bay Conservation Park
* Explore beaches and take walks through majestic native bushland
* See koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and birdlife in their natural environments

After  breakfast, you will begin your full day of touring.

Today your touring will include Flinders Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch, Fur Seals.

Travel to the western section of the island and discover the remarkable Flinders Chase National Park, one of the oldest and most important national parks in South Australia. The park incorporates almost 20 per cent of the island.  See at close range some of the 10, 000 healthy New Zealand fur seals in their colony at Cape du Couedic and discover the formation of the Remarkable Rocks. These large granite boulders balance dramatically on the cliff edge, which plunges 75 meters into the turbulent Southern Ocean below.    At Admirals Arch see where the powerful forces of nature have cut through the headland to create this natural geological formation. Admire the Cape du Couedic Lighthouse, established in 1909, in the far south-west corner of the park.   A delicious gourmet picnic lunch with wine will be served in a secluded bush setting. During the day koalas can be observed peacefully existing in their treetop habitat. By special permit, enter the Kelly Hill Conservation Park to see kangaroos and other native wildlife emerge from the safety of the bushland to graze on the open plains.  Visit Point Ellen at Vivonne Bay, recently voted Australia’s best beach. Vivonne Bay offers five kilometers of untouched white sandy beaches and the clearest water you will ever see.
