Note: Aurora Northern Lights Season is observed from late August to mid April. From late September to late March, it is dark after 6pm, and one has a greater chance to enjoy the lights.

Itinerary: 2 nights Helsinki, 4 nights Ivalo

This package was designed for those seeking a thrilling winter holiday that includes lots of unique activities – take a ride through the Arctic forest, visit a reindeer farm, chase the Aurora lights, go on a Husky safari, or roam the wide-open wilderness on a Finnish horse.

Private Walking Tour of Helsinki (4 hours)
Your tour today will visit the most important sights giving you an excellent view of Helsinki’s past and present. Explore the historical centre where Senate Square, City Hall, The Parliament buildings, Finlandia Hall and the Opera House are located. Then venture over to the iconic bright white Helsinki Cathedral, Government Palace and University of Helsinki. Admire the Uspenski Cathedral, when possible, you’ll also visit Temppeliaukion Church, known as the Church of the Rock.

Balance of your day at leisure to self-explore the city’s charming shops and markets.

After breakfast, private transfer back to the airport for your flight to Ivalo.

Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort West Village****Breakfast & dinner included daily – Small Glass Igloo x2 nights, Small Log Cabin x2 nights, 

This unique arctic resort is surrounded by nature located in the Saariselkä Fell region of Finnish Lapland. Accommodations are glass igloos and traditional wood chalets that have the world’s largest smoke sauna. Free WiFi and free parking are available. The thermal glass igloos feature a bedroom with a glass roof and luxury beds. Some igloos include a bathroom with sauna, while others have shared shower facilities.  The chalets feature cooking facilities, a seating area and fireplace. A private sauna is also included. The re are 2 à la carte restaurants, which serve Laplandic specialties such as reindeer and char-grilled salmon. The hotel’s smoke sauna even has its own restaurant, Savusauna.  6 saunas total available, each has a relaxation room with an open fireplace. A nearby ice hole is ideal for cooling off.

Husky Safari Tour (4 hours)
There are two big husky farms right next door to Kakslauttanen. It won’t take you long to get a feel for steering huskies, and before you know it, you’ll be sledding and experiencing the arctic wilderness with a loyal companion, your husky dog. Together you will experience the amazing views and arctic nature of the Kiilopää Fell area.

Visit the Reindeer with Snowmobile (3 hours)
A Reindeer Safari is a relaxing trip into nature, hosted by local reindeer herders. On a reindeer safari you can chat with the locals and connect with Sami people.

Horseback Riding (2 hours)
The rolling fells of Lapland are made for horse riding. The vast landscapes and the great silence make this horse safari a truly exceptional and captivating even if you have no previous experience. Children can also give it a try.

Shared Aurora Hunting with Horse Sleigh (1.5 hours)
Seeing the northern lights casting their magical glow across the Arctic sky is truly awe inspiring by a reindeer or horse, enjoying the panoramic views from the snow tank’s sleigh. Two strong Finnish horses will pull the wooden sleigh into the peaceful forest. There will be a break in the middle of the tour and if you are lucky you can admire the stunning Aurora Lights!

After breakfast, bid farewell to your winter wonderland and transfer to the airport for your connecting flight to Helsinki.
