The sparse population gives way to stunning landscapes, world class food and wine and well known attractions like the nearby Rottnest Island.

Here are our 3 Favorite Ways to Spend 3 Days in Perth with all the details taken care on a small group tour as your host!

  • Morning Tea Dome Cafe
  • Private Aboriginal experience in Kings Park
  • Lunch in Kings park
  • Tour of Fremantle including the prison

Tourism AustraliaMeet your friendly guide at your hotel this morning and start your day by grabbing a great coffee at one of the local Dome Cafes. Dome is a Perth based chain of boutique cafes that organically grow all of their own beans within Western Australia. Perth is Tourism Australiaa great city to walk around with an extensive network of footpaths. Your guide will lead you along the edge of the Swan River towards the magnificent Kings Park. If you are feeling energetic take the 250 steps up Kings Staircase arriving on top of Mount Eliza and home of Kings Park. From here we continue our way to the State War Memorial for uninterrupted views across Perth. Take some time also to reflect upon the memorial and the sacrifice given by Australian Soldiers. Kings Park has some amazing Aboriginal experiences and your guide will lead you along the Boodja Gnarling Walk. This walk offers a unique experience that highlights the diverse methods of survival used by the local Nyoongar people to live off the land. Commonly known as Bush Tucker, you will be both amazed and enthralled by the food available from native plants. Afterwards, we visit the Aboriginal Art Gallery to purchase original Aboriginal artwork by local artists.

Tourism AustraliaEnjoy lunch at Zamia Cafe located in the heart of Kings Park for great slow roasted Lamb Shoulder and accompanied by a Margaret River Shiraz. After lunch board your luxury vehicle now and continue on to Freemantle. An old fishing port, Freemantle is the gateway to Rottnest Island and has transformed itself into an uber-trendy hangout. The small streets are lined with organic restaurants and beautifully restored Australian Pubs. It is here that we meet a private walking guide to really appreciate the history and culture of this once-thriving fishing and whaling village. We also explore the infamous Freemantle Prison. From here your guide can escort you back to your hotel or you may prefer to settle in at the local’s favourite Sail and Anchor. A traditional Australian Pub with a great menu and craft beer. Try a Chicken Parmy and Little Creatures Pale Ale.

Tour Highlights:

  • Morning Tea
  • Visit a minimum of 3 wineries with private tastings
  • 7-course lunch at Voyager Estate
  • Return Seaplane transfer

Australia is blessed with incredible wine regions scattered throughout the entire country. Many people are familiar with the Barossa Valley in South Australia and the Hunter Valley in New South Wales. Fewer people are aware of the Margaret River Wine region, 3 hours drive south of Perth. Your guide will meet you early this morning for the scenic drive south towards Margaret River. We stop for some morning tea at the tiny village of Busselton to walk along its famous mile-long jetty.

Margaret River is Australia’s youngest wine growing region and in less than 50 years has developed an enviable reputation for world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc blends produced at over 200 mainly boutique wineries. In fact of Margaret Rivers only 3% of all Australian production, the area produces over 20% of all premium Australian wine. Margaret River’s climatic conditions have been compared to those of Bordeaux.

On arrival in the region, your guide will introduce you to some world-class wineries to sample some world-class wine. Quite often this part of the tour is customized to suit guests individual tastes but we always recommend our favorites:
Vasse Felix – Stunning Cellar Door and amazing Chardonnay!
Cape Mentelle – They ship internationally which we love!
Leeuwin Estate – The food & wine flight is a must!

Sightseeing is also high on the list as the region contains a unique blend of stunning beaches and beautiful wineries with an all year round temperate climate to match.  For lunch today we indulge in the 7-course discovery menu from Voyager Estate with accompanying wines. This delightful degustation menu showcases the best food on offer from the region.  We have time after lunch for some more touring or even shopping for local arts and crafts.
