This 13 Night South East Asia Itinerary was designed so you can link (2) destination modules together to extend your holiday and experience the highlights of these fascinating countries!

Cambodia | Laos

PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP – 6 Days / 5 Nights

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN PHNOM PENH
You will be transferred to your hotel and have the balance of day at leisure.

Cambodia is situated on the Indochinese peninsula, bordered by Thailand and Laos on the north and Vietnam on the east and south. The Gulf of Thailand is off the western coast. The size of Missouri, the country consists chiefly of a large alluvial plain ringed by mountains with the Mekong River to the east. The plain is centered around Lake Tonle Sap, which is a natural storage basin of the Mekong.

DAY 2: PHNOM PENH
After breakfast,  begin your Phnom Penh City Tour with a visit to the Royal Palace. The Silver Pagoda gets its name from the 5000 tiles of pure silver, which decorate the floor. In addition, the Buddha of the Pagoda is made from solid gold and is decorated with over 9,000 diamonds. Visit to Wat Phnom.

In the afternoon, visit Toul Sleng Museum, a former high school which was turn into a prison S21 during Khmer Rough period. Then onto the Russian Market for shopping.

In the evening you will visit the Independent and Victory Monuments.

DAY 3: PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP
After breakfast, transfer to Siem Reap.
(Please be informed if traffic situation from PNH to REP is under going repair and difficult to drive, it may take about 6-7 Hours drive)

On arrival Siem Reap, you will visit Sokun Area and Kompong Kdei Ancient Bridge.

DAY 4: SIEM REAP
After breakfast, you will visit Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, was a fortified city enclosing residences of priest, officials of the palace and military, as well as buildings for administering the ancient kingdom, next will be Bayon temple located at the centre of Angkor Thom City. It is known for the 216 giant mysterious faces carve on the 54 towers, each posing a differing mysterious smile, keeping watch of each compass point. On the walls of the galleries are many bas-reliefs depicting scenes of everyday life, great battles and military processions during Angkor period and Phimean Akas, Elephant and Leper King Terraces.  Lunch own arrangement.

Afternoon lunch, visit Taprohm and Angkor Wat. Unlike most of the temples of Angkor, Ta Prohm has been largely left to the clutches of the living jungle. Whereas, the legendary Angkor Wat is visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking. It is the world largest religious monument and a masterpiece that showcases the pinnacle of Khmer Art. Its beauty and state of preservation, is unrivaled; its artistic distinctiveness as fine as that of the Taj Mahal. It is a massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five lotus-like towers rising 65 meters ground level. Angkor Wat is the centerpieces of any visit to the temple of Angkor . Dinner own arrangement.

DAY 5: SIEM REAP
After breakfast, travel to visit Tonle Sap Lake with floating village and fishing community. You will learn about the unique ecological system of this lake which makes it one of the most productive lakes in Asia. Cruise around the floating village to observe the way of life of people living on the lake.

In the afternoon, visit Pouk Silk farm, Les Artisan D’Angkor and old market.

DAY 6: SIEM REAP – DEPARTURE
After breakfast, you will have the day at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your flight to Laos.

Fly: SIEM REAP/LUANG PRABANG, LAOS

LUANG PRABANG – VIENTIANE – 5 Days / 4 Nights

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LUANG PRABANG
You will be transferred to your hotel and have the balance of day at leisure.

The Peoples’ Democratic Republic of Laos is located in the center of Indochina, sharing borders with China to the North, Myanmar to Northwest, Thailand to the West, Cambodia to the South and Vietnam to the East.

Around 70% of Laos’ terrain is mountainous, the landscapes of northern Laos and the regions adjacent to Vietnam, in particular, are dominated by rough mountains.

The Mekong River is the main geographical feature in the west and, in fact, forms a natural border with Thailand in some areas. The Mekong flows through nearly 1,900 kilometers of Lao territory and shapes much of the lifestyle of the people of Laos. In the South the Mekong reaches a breadth of 20 kilometers, creating an area with thousands of islands.

Laos is a country as yet untouched by the modern demands, stress and peace of life. Its beauty lies in the Lao people, century-old traditions ans heritage, and its lush, pristine landscape.

DAY 2: LUANG PRABANG
Wake up early to witness the local monks walk through the streets to collect alms from local people. Enjoy time at the local market which is at its busiest in the early morning.

After breakfast back at the hotel, start with a tour of Luang Prabang, one of South East Asia’s most lovely cities and the ancient capital of Laos. Visit the Royal Palace Museum which gives a great overview of local history and is also home to a number of beautiful wats (temples).

In the afternoon, stop off at the Arts and Ethnology centre which gives a fascinating insight into the ethnic mix of Laos before heading up Mt Phousi for a lovely sunset overlooking Luang Prabang at the Mekong.

DAY 3: LUANG PRABANG – DEPARTURE
After breakfast, take a morning excursion to Kuang Si waterfalls with a boat ride to enjoy the fresh air in Laos.

In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to Vientiane – the capital of Laos.

Fly: LUANG PRABANG – VIENTIANE
You will be transferred to your hotel and have the balance of day at leisure.

DAY 4: VIENTIANE
After breakfast, visit the oldest wat (temple) in town as well as the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo which is now a museum. You will see the impressive Patuxai monument (a homage to the Arc de Triomphe) and can climb up for great views over the city. There should also be time for a visit to the COPE exhibition centre which has a fascinating (if horrifying) exhibition about the problems caused by an exploded ordinance dating back to the Vietnam War era.

DAY 5: VIENTIANE – USA DEPARTURE
After breakfast, your morning is at leisure until your afternoon airport transfer.

This afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to the USA.
