Cradle Mountain Lodge – Tasmania (Located 2 hours west of Launceston)
The Central Highlands of Tasmania is an alpine wilderness of forests, mountains, and lakes protected by Cradle Mountain/Lake St. Clair National Park. Miles of hiking trails explore the park which contains dark mossy rain forests and glacial tarns, Alpine meadows and tumbling rivers. The lodge offers a daily activities program including guided nature walks, canoeing, horse riding, and other activities. Regular visitors to the lodge environs include wallabies, possums, wombats and the Tasmanian Devil, plus an assortment of native forest birds.
